I got a set of Transition Revolution 32's. I'll probably get some Chris Kings for my TR450 over the summer in the same color, but these are for my Covert. I'm running black Revolution 32 rims, purple Revolution 32 hubs, purple Bombshell nipples, and white DT Swiss spokes. Also ordered a purple Chromag Ranger stem, purple ODI lock on rings, and now I'm looking for those chainring bolts. So those aren't single speed bolts? I'll get pictures up as soon as it starts coming together.

Where did you find the purple chainring bolts? I just ordered purple hubs, nipples, and handlebar, and purple chainring bolts would be sick. I just can't find them anywhere online.

You looking to sell your SX frame? I live in East Cobb. Use to have one just like it, but wound up getting out of riding for a little bit, and now I'm looking to build up another bike. Would love to have this frame.

So to answer the cost question, I honestly have no idea. I don't ever buy a complete bike from a shop, so I couldn't really tell you. Everything I ride is a completely custom build. This bike runs somewhere around $5000-7000.

The one I was running was a 1 1/8 standard, but you can get a tapered version now. They're finally selling them as a stock part.

Yeah, it's a nice bike. Soon to have all new parts. Gonna black it out. It'll looks sick. Got a 2011 Fox 831 on it's way. Going with a custom wheelset too. Hope Pro II hubs, white Halo triple butted spokes, blue Bombshell nipples, and I'm tossed up on what rims to get, but it's gonna be tight.

These brakes don't require anything. They'll work on whatever bike you own. No custom valves. I don't know where you heard that, but stop listening/reading that source cause it's retarded.

No idea. I'm very busy with work so I don't have time to look that up, but if you want to look up shipping costs through UPS and let me know I'll ship them to you. I live in Marietta, GA, zip code 30066.

$1000 is the lowest price. It's in better condition and cheaper then most Demos on here. Why would I go lower?

Thanks. I think it's one of the nicer 2008 Demo 8 II's I've ever seen. All high end parts used on it, and it'll weigh nothing when I swap out the spring for a TI coil and upgrade to a Boxxer World Cup.

It's a headset adapter called the turncoat that eliminates the star nut and allows the front brake cable to route through the steer tube. It's a part that should be coming out for the 2011 season, but was only available to Blackbox project riders.

Sounds like a plan. The Demo will be 100% done tonight with the exception of a 400lbs titanium spring from the DHX 5.0... I'll post up some pictures later on.

I thought I did. It's not on my old fork, but if it didn't come in the box I'll look around and see if it didn't get misplaced. Saw your pictures and it looks sick with the black Boxxer and red wheels. Can't wait to get up your way this summer and maybe shred Highlands.

That's the way it always goes with the bikes we really enjoyed. But check out my album later in the week. The frame will be a complete bike. Parts keep coming in. It's gonna be sick.

Need to put up some pictures with the new rotors and rim decals. The bike looks so much sicker now. Gotta find some time to head up to Drew's shop this coming week and build my new Demo 8. Gonna give you a run for your money now that I'm on a real DH rig. Ordered the last of my parts tonight. Just gotta find an RC4 and titanium spring and it'll be done. Maybe a set of backup DeeMax wheels and tubeless tires to race on. Stoked.

Thank you. I'll let you know how it rides when I get it finished. Gotta take the bike back to the factory and get the logos put on, and then it goes to get its' pictures done for the Ekko website. Then I've gotta go out for a day of photos and videos on it for the website, and maybe a GoPro run at the local trail. Just stay posted and I'm sure you'll see some cool stuff.

With the new 2010 Boxxer World Cup and new saddle, stem, bars, TI spring, and all the components I just installed I'll have it closer to the low 34/high 33 pound range...

I've got an MRP G2 Mini-G chainguide that I had to replace the boomerang on to make it ISCG05 compatible, so it'll be on in a few days. Waiting on my new cranks/bb/chainring to get in before I pull everything apart to do the install. Plus, there's not a lot of chain growth with Intense's VPP2 linkage, so the chain doesn't slip.

Yeah, hear that about the weather and light. It's been raining here for the past week and I've had to ride in the cold and mud. Not too bad because it's great training. You've gotta race in every condition, so why not get fast in the wet? But just get out on the weekends and work on what you're not great at. Climbing and bike handling skills.

Focus on setting up your bike properly first. Make sure the seat is at the right height and angle, and the bars are probably what I'd focus on second. I'll go out and ride a few times a week at a minimum, and always at different trails to keep my muscles shocked so they don't get use to riding the same terrain. I give myself a day of downhill too, so that when it comes time to race, I have an edge on descending which seems to be where the weakness lies in most xc riders. Everyone can climb that is competitive. I set my bike up light, but also with components that will handle the most aggressive downhill lines at each trail, that way I can bomb those sections and make up time or put in some distance between myself and the guys behind me. So I have a hardtail for the smooth trails, and my full suspension for the most rocky/rooty trails. The hardtail is awesome cause you can pump on it and build up a ton of speed. Just depends on what you prefer and what you can afford.

Ummm... I haven't finished the build yet since Sram is kinda dragging their feet on putting the right parts in a box and sending it to me the first time, but I'd assume it probably weighs around 28 pounds complete. I'll let you know later in the week once I get it done and post up some pictures of the compete bike. And you can get a sponsors at any age. They just help foot the bill on parts and such while you promote their products. You've just got to put down good results to really get noticed. Cross country is probably the easiest to land sponsors in because so many people compete on different levels.

Yeah, I race pro XC and had Sram color match everything to the color scheme that the frame company I ride for is looking to use this season. Haven't put on any of the graphics yet. Just kinda getting everything fitted right now. The skewers that are on there are actually titanium body, and carbon fiber ends... about as light as you can get them.

Bike is super fun to ride. I sent my Boxxer off to Suspension Experts and had them completely rebuild it, as well as drop it down to 7 inches of travel. I run the rear end of the bike in the 6.5 inch travel mode, so it's nice and balanced. Using the lower Boxxer crown and a direct mount stem, so it has a really low, stout front end. I live in Georgia, so I didn't wanna over do it and get a full on DH rig. The bike is perfect. Never a twitchy moment. It rides on rails!

Rock Shox offers a standard motion control platform that has minor increases in performace throughout their suspension line which is what creates their different levels of fork or rear shock. Blackbox technology is offered by Sram to their pro riders with an almost infinately adjustable tuning platform to the suspension. Bottom out bumpers, different air chamber, better coating on the stantions, custom spring rates, better seals, high speed and low speed compression and rebound, upgrades to the flood gate... As opposed to a standard adjustment package that gets you in the ball park of how you want your suspension set up.

I stripped the SX yesterday and I'll probably put it in the mail today or tomorrow. The new Intense frame will hopefully be getting here at the end of this week or beginning of next. I need to order a new seatpost and saddle for it though. But once it's done it'll be sweet. I do want to get the new Truvativ Descendant crankset for it and a 203mm front brake rotor and mounting adaptors.
