Who did your paint/graphics? 
So to answer the cost question, I honestly have no idea. I don't ever buy a complete bike from a shop, so I couldn't really tell you. Everything I ride is a completely custom build. This bike runs somewhere around $5000-7000. 
The one I was running was a 1 1/8 standard, but you can get a tapered version now. They're finally selling them as a stock part.

Yeah, it's a nice bike. Soon to have all new parts. Gonna black it out. It'll looks sick. Got a 2011 Fox 831 on it's way. Going with a custom wheelset too. Hope Pro II hubs, white Halo triple butted spokes, blue Bombshell nipples, and I'm tossed up on what rims to get, but it's gonna be tight. 
You can have the bars and stem for $50.
